East Stirlingshire v Cowdenbeath
Its not many games you see at this level where someone playing on the field has nearly 50 International caps.  But that was exactly the case as Guinean international goalkeeper Kemoko Camara arrived at the club to help ease the Falkirk clubs goalkeeping situation.   The 33 year old will take over between the sticks for two games while Shire and Falkirk sort out the future of Jamie Barclay.   Vastly experienced Kemoko play in the African Cup of Nations for his country in all four of the games.    He was powerless though to stop Guinea going out of the competition to Ghana in the quarter finals.

I
ts a long way from the African Cup of Nations to Ochilview Park and a game against the mighty Cowdenbeath but Kemoko is simply a journeyman despite the International keeper tag.  Playing for 'Shire is a world away from facing Drogba, Muntari and Essian but for a man used to plying his stuff for sides such as KRC Zuid West Vlaanderen, Bnei Sakhnin and AmaZulu FC, clubs such as East Stirling are famous in comparison.  Kemoko was in good company though as also in his East Stirlingshire side up front was Colin Cramb who has played for 18 clubs across Holland, England and Scotland.

East Stirlingshire are currently playing home games at nearby Ochilview as there home ground Firs Park is being used for training and administrative purposes only.   The club are said to be looking at a new stadium being built but housing developments have also been muted for the ground site.     Cowdenbeath fans were located in the traditional away end at Ochilview with 'Shire fans in the traditional Stenhousemuir home stand.    Around 100 Cowdenbeath fans made the trip to Stenhousemuir with the overall crowd being around 490.

As it was, despite having the chance to see an International goalkeeper play for them, Shire fans left the ground unhappy as the Guinean goalkeeper completed an error strewn performance with a number of blunders and simply did not look match fit.  Despite experience of top level competition he looked rusty and shaky at crosses and was easily beaten at his near post by a 40 yard speculative shot.   Understanding with his defenders seemed to lack effective communication and it was no surprise that Shire lost 4-1.

Cowdenbeath has earned the knickname the 'Blue Brazil' over recent years will a number of high profile media figures in the UK particularly in radio taking them on board as a second team for novalty reasons.   Certainly the Cowdenbeah team would appear to be far from a second rate side at the level they compete at and seem to have a number of accomplished players.  It would be no surprise to see Cowdenbeath winning promotion to the Second Division come the season end.
